Pedra, Peixe, Rio, Itamatatiua
A European filmmaker called Iban Ayesta arrives to an African descendent village in north Brazil intending to make a film. Among the people of Itamatatiua, he follows the life of Ariana, an eight year old girl that was brought to the forest from the capital city of Maranhao, Sao Luis. At the village, Ariana lives with her step-mother Dona Heloisa, a single lady that has dedicated her life to the craft of pott-making. The filmmaker lives in Dona Heloisa s house together with Ariana and he shares his own mother loss as a child with them.
